Avox logo

Avox Systems (A-VOX Systems) has manufactured instruments to measure blood oxygen since 1976. Its oximeters and co-oximeters are used in cardiology (cath lab), intensive care, and emergency medicine. Oximeters and co-oximeters typically measure carboxyhemoglobin, methemoglobin, oxyhemoglobin, total hemoglobin, percent saturation, and oxygen content. British spellings are carboxyhaemoglobin, methaemoglobin, oxyhaemoglobin, total haemoglobin

AVOXimeter 1000E Cath-Lab Oximeter

AVOXimeter 4000 Portable CO-Oximeter

AVOXimeter 1000E Cath-Lab Oximeter is the oximeter of choice in the cardiac cath labs of leading hospitals. In samples of whole blood, the AVOXimeter 1000E oximeter measures oxyhemoglobin, total oxyhemoglobin, and blood oxygen content&emdash;all in less than 10 seconds. Applications include diagnosing shunts such as atrial septal defects, ventricular septal defects, patent ductus arteriosus, etc., as well as Fick Principle calculations of cardiac output, systemic blood flow, and pulmonary blood flow.

The AVOXimeter 4000 co-oximeter is the world’s first portable co-oximeter and first whole-blood co-oximeter. It measures carboxyhemoglobin, methemoglobin, oxyhemoglobin, total hemoglobin, saturation, and oxygen content. When combined with a blood gas analyzer such as i-stat (istat) or IRMA, the AVOXimeter 4000 provides a complete picture of a patient’s oxygen transport status in many clinical conditions including surgical blood loss, anemia, hypoxia, carbon monoxide poisoning, etc.
