Avox Systems (A-VOX Systems) has manufactured instruments to measure blood oxygen since 1976. Its oximeters and co-oximeters are used in cardiology (cath lab), intensive care, and emergency medicine. Oximeters and co-oximeters typically measure carboxyhemoglobin, methemoglobin, oxyhemoglobin, total hemoglobin, percent saturation, and oxygen content. British spellings are carboxyhaemoglobin, methaemoglobin, oxyhaemoglobin,
						total haemoglobin

The AVOXimeter oximeter is designed for near-patient or point-of-care use in cardiac catheterization labs, emergency rooms, and intensive care units. It replaces large, bulky oximeters and co-oximeters made by Radiometer, Bayer Diagnostics, Instrumentation Laboratory, AVL Scientific, Ciba Corning, Nova Biomedical, American Optical, and Waters Instruments. The AVOXimeter 1000E whole-blood oximeter measures oxyhemoglobin, total oxyhemoglobin, and oxygen content. The AVOXimeter 4000 whole-blood co-oximeter measures carboxyhemoglobin, methemoglobin, oxyhemoglobin, total hemoglobin, percent saturation, and oxygen content. Patented by Avox Systems (A-VOX Systems).

Disposable cuvettes enable the AVOXimeter oximeter to eliminate the maintenance required by conventional oximeters and co-oximeters like the OSM2, OSM3, Oxylite, IL682, IL482, Rapidpoint, Rapidlab, AVL Omni 6, Chiron Ciba-Corning 845, ABL 625, and ABL 77. Using disposables also makes the AVOXimeters the fastest oximeters and co-oximeters on the market. The AVOXimeter 1000E measures oxyhemoglobin, total oxyhemoglobin, and oxygen content. The AVOXimeter 4000 measures carboxyhemoglobin, methemoglobin, oxyhemoglobin, total hemoglobin, saturation, and oxygen content.
